TSN Leadership Webinar

How a Level I Trauma Center Got IR Response Times Under 60 Minutes

Wed, September 27, 2023 2:00 PM (EST)

The new “interventional radiology response for hemorrhage control” standard from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) is a challenge for most trauma centers. Many program leaders are struggling to overcome the communication and logistical issues that stand in the way of a fast IR response.

This new webinar will show how trauma program leaders at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital used the Viz Trauma Suite to cut through the obstacles and establish an IR response system that reliably meets ACS standards. Attendees will learn how the Texas Health team:

  • Used root cause analysis to identify the roadblocks to a fast IR response
  • Experimented with incremental changes in an attempt to speed response pathways
  • Led efforts to leverage the Viz system to address their complex process challenges
  • Used the Viz Trauma Suite to achieve rapid coordination between trauma and IR
  • Took their IR response from “non-compliant” to meeting and exceeding ACS standards

The speakers will provide an overview that shows how the Viz Trauma Suite works in the hands of clinicians, and they will discuss how the Viz system can be applied to other time-sensitive processes.

This webinar is designed for anyone involved in coordinating a rapid specialty response to trauma: trauma program managers, trauma medical directors, interventional radiologists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, trauma PI coordinators, regional trauma system leaders and more.

You will have the chance to ask the Texas Health team about any aspect of their IR response process — and learn what other centers are doing to ensure compliance with ACS specialty response standards.
